Kati Basti is the premier classical intervention for lower back pain, herniated discs, and sciatica. A leak-proof dough dam crafted from black gram flour is placed over the lumbar region (L1 to S1). Warm medicated oil is poured and maintained at a constant therapeutic temperature for 35 to 45 minutes, deeply nourishing spinal discs and decompressing impinged nerve roots.
